Back to work after the NYE (new year and era) holiday. It was one of those wind almost strong enough to blow you off the bridge days. Did you know that some people hate windchimes?

Season 2 of Friends from College is resonating with my life on this (altcal) 1/22/19. The Atlantic City pollution is tragic.

Wavering between worry about the future and shame about the past I find it hard to know what's best to know what to do now. I'm footloose and fancy free.

The new 19 day 19 month calendar will make months go by more quickly, but there will be more of them. Monthly checks, monthly bills. A new calendar (newcal) is a good way to mark the dawning of a new era.

Bright sunshiney day. We remember King. His dream our dream, not a reality. Giant step forward scissors step back. It's also the day we remember Jim Boyer's life and death. Also Tu B'Shevat, the birthday of the trees. Watching the eclipse last night I realized just how short my attention span has gotten. Once the clouds cleared and I could see the refilling of the hidden circle in the sky, I got distracted from watching. I'd like to get better at just watching time pass through nature.

Today is the big blood full moon eclipse. Planets are aligning. An auspicious way to start a new era. Erev Tu B'Shevat.
There has been a lot of tension building up. Contentious issues. I believe there is truth--Emet. You can try to not face it; pretend it isn't there. But just like with God, the truth doesn't care if we believe in it or not. It is multifaceted, appearing different depending on your perspective. But there it is, the huge elephant in the room. We might not see the elephant, but we can smell the dung from far away.

Right now, one truth is that human society is on the wrong track. The most powerful leaders are corrupt and failing in their responsibility to protect life on earth. Unfortunately, we need to change course but the old guard will put up a fight. There may not be enough time just to wait for their demise. At a minimum, those of us who see the light must stop following the materialistic death cult culture of domination and greed and turn towards love and harmony. Going in another direction can be hard when forces seek to keep us in line. Hopefully new leaders will emerge to embolden and inspire the people to push past oppression, inertia, and despair.

The New Calendar starts today. Day 1-19 months of 19 days. January Day One

Hello! This new calendar system will be more efficient and mathematical. 19 squared with a bonus day every so often is better than our 12 months of varying size.

I guess for simplicity's sake, I'll just use the same names for the first 12 months as we're using currently. That could change. If someone makes a good case for why a month should be named something particular, I am very flexible.

"There’s always rules [in life], but usually they’re not spelled out; everyone has a slightly different idea of what they are, there’s all these ambiguities, it’s sort of complicated and then people break them all the time anyway. Life is this endless game of trying to figure out what the rules are and nobody quite understands. Then, [with bureaucracy], you create this imaginary situation, totally bounded in time and space, where everybody knows exactly what the rules are, people actually do follow the rules, and even people who follow the rules can win — which is very unusual in real life." from here
