I had a fun Mardi Gras 3/7. Saw Jackstraw, Reggie, and Larry Yes. I guess Julia and I try to make up for the lack of women musicians by being on the dance floor. I missed Taeko Yokohama.
Mercury Retrograde has been apparent. I had lunch with my ex-husband from 10+ years ago. I hadn't seen him in about a year maybe. He looks like Bernie Sanders. Now, I'm a bit concerned about my Bernie-mania. Also I heard from someone I thought was ghosting me.
I'm feeling angry despair about the single-minded anti-abortion, anti-choice mentality of Republicans. They don't seem to get that no one wants to kill a baby--well actually people who oppose environmental regulations, gun control, medicare for all, and anti-war peace movements do want to kill babies--but most women who choose abortion over carrying a fetus to term do not want to kill a baby. Many are mothers before or after abortions. We care for the life and then choose to end it before there is conscious suffering. We care for ourselves more than the shame, fear and guilty that the patriarchy has imposed on women and our sexuality so that they can control it. If we sin, it's between us and our God or Goddesses and not the business of the government. It's so incredibly manipulative and stupid. People who are agnostic or libertarian about every greedy gross thing Trump and the steaming pile of Conservatives/Republicans can think of are slaves to the idea that they need to force women into having babies they don't want.
I wonder about China's forced abortion program. That seems wrong too, especially the preference for males that ended up unbalancing the genders so that now women are more valued and the men are all frustrated violent incels. But was it the right thing population/ecology wise?
